This is where I am creating a virtual journal to document my progress and achievements on the violin. I may also post great videos of other violinists from time to time. Enjoy and please comment!

More melody!
Something a little prettier, its an arrangement from a great section of Thcaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet: Overture. This was a few years ago and I was testing not only my ability to quicly recognize and recreate melodies but expand on them as well. I loved making this clip except for the last note, it bothers me haha... feel free to comment guys!

ReplyDeletebeautiful... I want to hear more from you.
ReplyDeletei love Thcaikovsky, one of my favorites...
ReplyDeleteYou're right on the last note, a lil flat. But overall, that's some damn good work. Very very close to the real thing. Makes me miss my flute.
ReplyDeletevery good thats awesome
ReplyDeletepretty cool. that last note was killer. try doing some of those celtic happy go lucky fiddling songs. that'd be cool
ReplyDeleteYou've got some talent. And to think that was a few years go.. keep up the good work! Practice, practice, practice!
ReplyDeletei almost want to try and learn that on the guitar :-)
ReplyDeletesooo badass
ReplyDeleteGaaaah! I wanna play like that :(
ReplyDeletewow quite talented, i really enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteNot too shabby. I wanted to learn violin, but my parents made me learn clarinet instead. lol
ReplyDeleteAlso, you should learn some Stravinsky. Good god I love that man's work. Can you play by ear, or do you need sheet music? There's another I'd recommend to learn but I can't say if there's sheet music for it or not.
wow!! you're pretty good dude :D
ReplyDelete@arcee
ReplyDeleteI love stravinsky as well! The Berceuse and Finale of the Firebird is gorgeous! I can play by ear and with music, but for a composer of Stravinski's calibre I would most certainly need sheet music...I kind of want to look into his writings for the violin now...I believe he wrote a concerto.
beautiful!
ReplyDeleteyou're really good at the violin, mate. I could never get the hang of it when I was a child, so I moved on to the guitar. Wish I could play such a sweet sounding instrument.
ReplyDeleteI'm useless with most form of art except maybe photography, very envious. Love to see what else you get up to so I'll be back
ReplyDeletei couldnt remember this song for the life of me, and now i hear it here... thanks man! Hows your paganini?? i love caprice 5

ReplyDeleteI'd have to say the Finale of the Firebird is one of my favorites. No lie, I'll die if you play that beautifully. Looking forward to hearing more, especially a Stravinsky concerto!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to request the Berceuse & Finale sheet music on monday.. I should be able to get a hold of it I've performed it before with orchestra...If I can get the music I PROMISE I will record myself playing the Berceuse and Finale with an orchestral track playing behind me as soon as Friday. I'll return here with comments on whether I could secure the sheet music.
ReplyDeleteVery nice. Any originals?
ReplyDeleteI have original music written but I crave a pianist to accompany me...Maybe within the month I will have a friend of mine help me provide a video
ReplyDeleteVery nice dude nice post. Followed!
ReplyDeleteWow. Ive been thinking of learning the violin.
ReplyDeleteBut I tried guitar already and I don't think I have the patience for an instrument unfortunately..
